Precious is running out of time at the shelter. While the volunteers like her and find her easy to handle, the director is starting to think she is “unadoptable,” because of her skin issues. He doesn’t get that healing takes time. He didn’t see the awful condition she was in when when she first came in. He hasn’t watched her the gradual improvments in her health and her personality. This all took place out of his sight. She has gone from being a very nervous, nippy dog, to a more relaxed, trusting dog. She will probably always have sensitive skin and needs to be on a grain-free diet for dogs with sensitive skin and stomach, but that’s easy. She needs regular baths, but she likes being bathed. She should take antihistamines daily, but that’s another easy thing to do. She has survived what appear to have been some really bad times when she was on her own or in a neglectful situation. She is such a great companion dog, very affectionate. She has come so far. I hate that she keeps getting passed over because she isn’t perfect. She is in danger of being euthanized soon if we do not find a home or rescue for her, so, please, if you are considering adopting her, don’t wait too long. Time is short. Please help me save her.
