robertgrahamphotography:

These were taken at a place called the Clootie Well on the Black Isle, just north of Inverness. Its an old Celtic tradition, where you tie a rag or piece of clothing that has something to do with someone who is either ill or recently deceased on the tree branches. It is supposed to bring them luck, either in getting better, or in the afterlife. It is also believed that if you were to remove something from a clootie well, then you would become afflicted with whatever ailment that rag was associated with. Its a very creepy place.
